The most popular wedding style we encounter is the boho and rustic style. Of course, we realize that by looking at the details, one can notice many differences between the two terms, but in the world of wedding suits, there is no need to complicate matters more than necessary. For this type of celebration, we always opt for less formal suits—still elegant, but with a touch of idyllic, everyday character that allows them to be used in many different ways later on. Today we are refreshing what is probably the most popular choice for a boho wedding, namely the beige wedding suit.
A BEIGE WEDDING SUIT WITH A WAISTCOAT
The fondness for beige is easy to observe at practically every consultation regarding a boho or rustic style wedding suit. The warm color, which looks fantastic in the sunlight, tempts many young couples, especially when we draw inspiration from the widely available images on the internet. However, there are many versions of the beige suit, and it is well worth considering exactly what configuration you want to wear for the ceremony.
In the photos, we present a beige suit with a waistcoat, which—despite its light color—looks highly elegant. We managed to achieve this effect by applying a few stylistic tricks. First of all, we have a three-piece suit here, meaning it includes a waistcoat made of the same fabric, and such sets always look more dignified and wedding-appropriate regardless of the chosen material. Additionally, we amplify this impression by choosing a bow tie instead of a tie, because although both accessories share the same level of formality (especially when made of the same fabric), bow ties always bring to mind tuxedos and other highly elegant ensembles. Nevertheless, from the perspective of the strict rules of classic male elegance, beige remains an informal color.
DARK OR LIGHT BEIGE FOR YOUR OWN WEDDING?
In 2020, we had the pleasure of showing a darker version of this exact same fabric. The cooler shade of beige is equally versatile, but it was further from a cream color, which—in our opinion at the time—could have been too intense as an entire suit. Over time, however, we noticed that while clients appreciate the darker beige in photos, they often choose the lighter shade for their own weddings.
It is not only smooth fabrics like the one we present in the pictures that enjoy great popularity but also materials with a linen blend and a visible open weave. A beige suit is then less uniform, which naturally lowers its formality and also makes the fabric much more interesting and complex. The final choice always belongs to the future groom, of course, and his personal preferences are the most important factor for us. In our showrooms, we try to have many suits available to try on, allowing clients to form their own opinions about individual colors.
The color beige in the suiting world comes in countless combinations. From smooth woolen fabrics to blends of wool, linen, and silk with visible texture, to pure linens or flannels that have a completely different character. TIE OR BOW TIE? WHAT ACCESSORIES TO CHOOSE FOR A BEIGE WEDDING SUIT?
A green bow tie made of wool, linen, and silk provides a striking contrast to the beige wool from which the suit is tailored, and the key to matching this color was how earth tones harmonize with one another. A brown or burgundy bow tie would have worked equally well, and the only colors that could potentially ruin such an outfit are light ones that are too close to the shade of the outerwear fabric.
During the final fitting, when we are selecting accessories, the question of choosing a tie or a bow tie comes up very often. As we mentioned earlier—if both accessories are made of the same fabric, they will sit at a similar level of formality, and it is best to simply choose what you personally prefer. Bow ties certainly have strong wedding associations, but a beautiful and well-tied tie will absolutely not bring any shame!
WHICH SHOES FOR A BEIGE SUIT?
Even though many shoe colors will match beige, in our opinion, brown suede works best. Suede shoes, thanks to their matte texture and the softness of the leather, stylistically fit boho suits perfectly, and we would strongly suggest looking in this direction. However, there is nothing stopping you from choosing brown or even burgundy leather shoes.
When thinking about the specific style, we advise against oxfords and recommend focusing on monks or loafers. These are shoe styles that, when combined with brown leathers (both grain and suede), will elevate the beige suit to a higher level, creating a wonderfully cohesive whole.
WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A SUMMER SUIT?
To feel comfortable in a summer suit, several crucial conditions must be met. First and foremost, we should choose an open-weave fabric—contrary to popular belief, it does not necessarily have to be the lightest material available, but rather appropriately woven so that it successfully allows air to pass through. Later in this article, we devote more space to the tropical weave wool from which the beige wedding suit seen in the photos is made.
Another essential condition is the correct fit. It is no secret that air is a phenomenal insulator—moreover, it is precisely a light breeze that can give us a moment of respite during hot days, especially when we are the center of attention as the groom. We are not saying that the clothes must be excessively loose, but they also should not be fitted to the absolute limits of possibility. If we give the air room to flow, we will feel much more comfortable, and if the shirt does not cling directly to our body, we will not feel unrefreshed. In the case of a beige or light blue suit, we also gain an extra point for the light color, which heats up much slower.
It is also worth considering the internal finish of the jacket. We can tailor a jacket with a full lining, half-lining, quarter-lining, or entirely unlined. The first variant guarantees the best draping of the jacket, because the slippery lining (made of viscose, acetate, cupro, or silk, but never polyester!) ensures the garment always slides smoothly over our body. The next two options increasingly expose the back, allowing air to flow more freely, while the absolute lack of a lining exposes the front of the jacket as well. An unlined jacket drapes most naturally, but it might bunch up or catch somewhere due to the rougher grip of an open-weave wool. In such cases, it is especially important to ensure a slightly looser fit.
In our article about classic wedding suits, I also have the pleasure of appearing in a black suit, which is tailored precisely with an unlined jacket. Such a solution ensures greater breathability, but at the same time, we must remember that the lack of a lining might be only moderately comfortable for some. For me, the slightly poorer draping of the jacket’s back is a price I am more than willing to pay to feel every gust of wind.
TROPICAL WOOL BY THE FRENCH BRAND DORMEUIL
We tailored this beige wedding suit from tropical weave wool. This is an open-weave wool—when you hold the material up to the light, it is translucent, guaranteeing high breathability and comfort during the summer months. A tropical weave must be made from highly durable and resilient fibers so that the basket weave does not open up or stretch permanently over time, but always returns to its original form. Thanks to this, TONIK, the tropical weave from the French brand Dormeuil, stretches subtly despite having 100% wool in its composition.

IS A BEIGE SUIT FASHIONABLE?
Knowing everything about the beige suit, as well as checking the available alternatives, there is nothing left to do but ask yourself a fundamental question—is beige just a temporary fashion, or can this color be considered part of the classic menswear canon? The answer is somewhat ambiguous because a beige suit will always lean more towards contemporary trends than strict classics. On the other hand, however, we have been tailoring such suits for many years, they were tailored long before us, and they will undoubtedly continue to enjoy immense popularity for many years to come. If you simply like this color and the chosen style of your wedding allows for slight deviations from rigid rules, there is really no need to overthink it any further.
